Otto Cuyler, President
The Cuyler family business, specializing in food processing machinery, was founded over 80 years ago in 1942 by Otto Cuyler's father and grandmother in Webster, New York. As a teen, Otto started out as a mechanic, helping recondition equipment for resale. He then began traveling with his father on buying inspections, auctions and appraisals for regional banks. Upon his father’s passing in 1979, Otto took over the business. (Click here for more on the auspicious Cuyler family history.)
In 1982, Otto began working with national asset-based lenders, appraising machinery and valuing complete facilities for liquidation and auction. In 2000, Otto formalized the appraisal division of Cuyler Associates, Inc. And in 2012, his daughter, Cate, came on board as a valuation and marketing associate, becoming the 4th generation to join the company. A fifth generation is in training!
Otto is current in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and is a frequent speaker at local and national ASA and other valuation groups.
